Housed in Charles II’s 17th-century hunting lodge, this traditional hotel is opposite the Forest of Dean Sculpture Trail and 5 miles from Clearwell Caves.
In the main house and a courtyard, the classically decorated rooms (some with 4-poster beds) include en suite bathrooms, TVs, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Family rooms are available, and there’s also a separate cottage.
There are 3 on-site eateries, including a formal restaurant in the historic, oak-beamed Verderers’ court. Other amenities include Wi-Fi, a conference centre, plus a bike hire service. Full English breakfast is available.
